There are so many reasons to love astrology: the funny, shareable memes on social media, the sports team-esque camaraderie among folks who share the same sign and the ability to blame the stars for pretty much any problem.

Well, we’re mixing up another reason to raise a glass to the stars: we created 12 delicious cocktail recipes for every Zodiac sign, complete with an on-brand explanation for each sign’s drink pairing. This might just be the most fun horoscope you read all year.

Aries Very Cherry Whiskey

Aries is a fire sign, and probably the most hot-tempered and assertive sign of the Zodiac (they’re named after the god of war, after all), so a fiery cherry whiskey drink is perfect for our fearless lunar cycle leaders.

The Recipe:

  • 1 ½ ounces Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire Whiskey

  • ½ ounce simple syrup

  • ½ ounce lemon juice

  • Splash of cherry juice

  • Maraschino cherry

Add whiskey, simple syrup, lemon juice and cherry juice to a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with a cherry.

Taurus Elderflower Gimlet

Taurus signs are down-to-earth, dependable and have impeccable taste. A classic gimlet with an intriguing elderflower twist is fitting.

The Recipe:

  • 2 ounces Balfour Street Gin

  • 1 ounce Fiorente Elderflower Liqueur

  • ½ ounce simple syrup

  • ½ ounce lime juice

  • Lime wheel

Add gin, liqueur, simple syrup and lime juice to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Strawberry Gemini Bellini

Gemini is an air sign who is so adaptable that they can fit in with any crowd. If they were a cocktail, they’d be an easy-sipping, fun-loving bellini.

The Recipe:

  • Handful of strawberries

  • 3 ounces orange juice

  • 1 ounce lemon juice

  • Bella Notte Prosecco

Add strawberries, orange juice and lemon juice to a blender and blend until smooth. Add a couple spoonfuls of the blended puree mixture to a Champagne flute and top with prosecco. Garnish with a whole strawberry.

Cancer Iced Apple Toddy

Cancers are the moms of the Zodiac, so they deserve a comforting, nostalgic cocktail. Cancers, we raise this iced apple bourbon toddy to you. Thank you for always keeping snacks and hand sanitizer in your bag for us!

The Recipe:

  • 1 ounce honey simple syrup*

  • ½ ounce lemon juice

  • 1 ½ ounces Cooper’s Mark Apple Bourbon

  • 4 ounces apple cider

  • Cinnamon stick

  • Lemon wheel

Honey simple syrup:

  • 1 cup honey

  • 1 cup water

For the syrup: Combine water and honey in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until honey dissolves. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

For the cocktail: Add honey simple syrup, lemon juice, bourbon and apple cider to a glass with ice and stir to combine. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and lemon wheel.

Leo Tequila Spritzer

Leos are ambitious, confident and love being the center of attention. Thus, we mixed them up a tequila spritzer to get the party started. (We’d be lion if we said we weren’t craving one of these.)

The Recipe:

  • 1 ounce Aperol Apertivo

  • 1 ounce Mayorazgo Silver Tequila

  • ½ ounce lime juice

  • Hi! Prosecco

  • Lime wheel

Add Aperol, tequila and lime juice to a glass with ice and stir. Top with prosecco. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Virgo Dirty Chai Martini

As the most mature, grounded and erudite sign, Virgo is absolutely the type to start their day with just a mug of strong, black coffee. Hence, an espresso martini with a dirty chai twist.

The Recipe:

  • 1 ounce V5 vodka

  • 2 ounces cold brew coffee

  • 1 ounce Cayman Reef Kona Coffee Liqueur

  • 1 ounce Somrus Chai Liqueur

  • Star anise

  • Grated nutmeg

Add vodka, cold brew, coffee liqueur and chai liqueur to a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with star anise and a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Libra Blood Orange Negroni

Libras are all about balance and fairness, so a cocktail that’s equal parts of all ingredients would appeal to their equitable sensibilities.

The Recipe:

  • 1 ounce Grays Peak Gin

  • 1 ounce Campari Apertivo

  • 1 ounce Savory & James Amontillado Sherry

  • 1 ounce blood orange juice

  • Blood orange peel

Add gin, apertivo, sherry and blood orange juice to a rocks glass with ice and stir to combine. Garnish with a blood orange peel.

Scorpio Spicy Margarita

Scorpios are the fire signs of the water signs. They’re strong and passionate, but it comes from a place of emotional attachment. Try this spicy margarita for our Scorpio sweethearts.

The Recipe:

  • Lime wedge

  • Salt

  • Jalapeño slices, seeds removed

  • 2 ounces Los Rijos Silver Tequila

  • ½ ounce Charles Regnier Triple Sec

  • ½ ounce lime juice

  • ½ ounce agave nectar

Rub a lime wedge on the rim of a rocks glass and press it into salt to coat the rim. Fill the glass halfway with ice and set aside. Add 2-3 jalapeño slices (depending on spice preference), tequila, triple sec, lime juice and agave to a shaker with ice and shake. Strain into the rocks glass and garnish with a jalapeño slice.

Sagittarius Vodka à la Violette

Listen, if any sign was going to have crème de violette in their cocktail, it’s Sagittarius. They’re adventurous, nomads at heart and always down for anything. They’ll probably regale you with the story of how they got a similar cocktail at a dive bar in Berlin during their last weekend trip.

The Recipe:

  • 1 ounce 1941 Craft Vodka

  • ½ ounce Rothman & Winter Crème de Violette

  • 1 ounce pineapple juice

  • ½ ounce lime juice

  • ½ ounce lemon juice

  • Thyme sprig

Add vodka, crème de violette, pineapple juice, lime juice and lemon juice to a shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a sprig of thyme.

Right on Thyme Capricorn Sidecar

Capricorn is the most hardworking, no-nonsense sign. Thus, a hardworking, no-nonsense cocktail: the sidecar, with a thyme garnish for some earth sign flair.

The Recipe:

  • 2 ounces Quarter Horse Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

  • 1 ounce Charles Regnier Triple Sec

  • 1 ounce lemon juice

  • Thyme sprig

Add bourbon, triple sec and lemon juice to a shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a fresh thyme sprig.

Aquarius Earl Grey Whisky Sour

Aquarius signs are cerebral, creative and original. They need a cocktail with unique flavors that can keep up with their big ideas, like this Japanese whisky sour featuring flavors of blackberry, Earl Grey tea and sage.

The Recipe:

  • ½ ounce simple syrup

  • Blackberries

  • 1 ½ ounces Suntori Whisky Toki

  • ½ ounce lemon juice

  • 1 ½ ounces chilled Earl Grey tea

  • Sage leaf

Add simple syrup and blackberry to a mixing glass. Muddle together. Add ice to mixing glass, then add whisky, lemon juice and tea. Stir until all is combined. Strain into a chilled coupe glass with a mesh strainer. Garnish with a blackberry and sage leaf.

Pisces Deep Blue Sea

Pisces, represented by a fish, is the lovable cry baby of the zodiac. For a deeply emotional water sign, a sweet, mermaid-style cocktail that looks like the ocean depths is perfectly matched.

The Recipe:

  • ½ ounce Charles Regnier Blue Curacao

  • ½ ounce Charles Regnier Sweet Melon

  • ½ ounce simple syrup

  • 1 ounce lemon juice

  • 1 ounce Palms Silver Rum

  • 2 ounces soda water

  • Lemon wheel

Pour blue curacao in a glass with ice. Slowly pour sweet melon liqueur on top. In a shaker with ice, add simple syrup, lemon juice and rum. Shake and slowly strain into the glass to create a layered effect. Top with soda water. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
